FRP in Model Code 2020 and in future Eurocode2

FRP reinforcement was first introduced at the level of the Model Codes in the MC2010. fib Model Codes are design guidance documents for reinforced and prestressed concrete and typically form the basis of the standard EN 1992, Eurocode 2: Design of concrete structures.

fib Commission 10 is currently working on the MC2020, whereas the text parts related to FRP are drafted by fibT5.1. This work is under progress.

Furthermore, a CEN working group is working on the introduction of FRP in the future Eurocode. fibT5.1 contributes with its expertise, and by several fibT5.1 member respresentations in the CEN working group. This work is under progress and is lead by DIN. Concrete with FRP reinforcement is introducted in the upcoming Eurocode 2 by means of informative appendices J and JA.

For more information on the previously published MC2010, see the fib web site (www.fib-international.org/fib-model-code-2010).
